Position Overview

Raise your hand if you’re a natural go-getter, lover of all things content marketing, analytics, SEO, and split testing — or in other words, if you’re an all around inbound marketing whiz. If your hand is up, keep reading… 

This position’s primary focus is to oversee and implement inbound marketing initiatives such as ongoing lead generation/funnels, content marketing, website optimization, marketing automation, SEO, and more. Sounds like a big deal, right? That’s because it is! 

Your job will be to use your assortment of inbound marketing superpowers to make sure Amy Porterfield is the first person that comes to mind when someone asks themselves (or Google) “how do I build a successful online business?” 

Our ideal candidate will come to the table with prior experience and a proven track record in the online business world.  You’re a driven individual that loves the lead generation process and has a deep understanding of the customer journey and what turns someone from stranger into a raving fan. 

Things that are intimidating to some (SEO, A/B testing, paid traffic, and marketing automation) are second nature to you. Team work makes the dream work is on your list of quotes to live by and you have no problem working with others to accomplish important goals. 

Our ideal Inbound Marketing Manager is organized, multi-talented, and great at managing others, measuring results, and meeting deadlines. You’ll be an integral part of a dedicated team that loves to have fun and make an impact in the lives of online entrepreneurs everywhere!

This is a full-time position — please don’t apply if you have other clients , manage an agency or are building your own online business.

The Inbound Marketing Manager position will be mostly virtual, but you will work with our Chief Marketing Officer for 1-day sessions once a month (and sometimes more if needed). You must live in San Diego County, LA County, Riverside County, or Orange County and be available Monday-Friday between 9-5 PST.

We’re not your average company — we always make sure our team members have plenty of freedom and flexibility to live their best lives, recharge, and have fun (major perks of working as a remote team!)

That said, the online marketing world doesn’t take breaks — that’s why we need our team members to be flexible too. The tasks required in this role rarely fit into an average 9-5 schedule. Our dream Inbound Marketing Manager is open to finding their own rhythm and creating a schedule that serves their life while also ensuring they get the job done.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Inbound Marketing Manager will be working closely with the Chief Marketing Officer as well as the marketing and content teams to manage projects related to lead generation, marketing automations, SEO, website optimization, and more. 

That means staying organized, thinking ten steps ahead, managing contractors and team members, and balancing the big picture with the small steps and details that will help the company get to where we want to go. 

Your tasks will include: Creating and managing quarterly campaigns with set weekly and daily deliverables that need to be met, ongoing SEO and website optimization, regularly contributing strategic insights and communicating with the team to ensure we meet our goals. In addition to: 


  • Building captivating, conversion driven lead magnet funnels 
  • A/B testing key landing pages 
  • Aid in content strategy development for both website content and lead magnets optimizing for both search engines and lead generation.
  • Aid in content creation that’s consistent, on brand, value driven, and that attracts visitors from Google without sacrificing quality. 
  • Manage outside contractors and team members involved in executing inbound marketing campaigns including copywriters, editors, and designers.


  • Conduct keyword research and create and implement an action plan so that we’re ranking for as many relevant keywords as possible with the goal to bring profitable traffic to our site. 
  • Competitor analysis — we like to keep tabs on what’s working in the industry and model the best strategies. 
  • Perform technical SEO audits — sounds fun, right? But seriously, this work is vital to ensuring our site is performing and attracting as much qualified traffic as possible. 
  • Internal and external linking strategy and acquisition — play the Google game and develop both an internal linking strategy that makes the most of our current content AND an external strategy that gets us links from trustworthy sources. 


  • Identify and optimize money making pages specifically to draw search users who are looking for the solutions we offer.
  • Ensure our website maintains a strong and alluring brand voice throughout and that we’re making use of current buzzwords that will resonate with our community.
  • Create site architecture that rivals the Colosseum so our user experience feels natural and no web page goes to waste. 


  • Paid traffic strategy for both Facebook ads and Google — you’ll be working with our ad agency and overseeing the creative assets to attract more leads, traffic, and ultimately, sales. 
  • Create retargeting strategies designed to target and convert our warm audience. 
  • Google Adwords keyword strategy to ensure we’re investing in the search terms that will have the biggest impact on our business. 
  • Build lead magnet funnels in Infusionsoft that take our new leads from strangers to brand evangelists!

Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate possess the following strengths and skills:

  • Experienced and knowledgeable in all things online marketing including content strategy and creation, SEO, social media, A/B testing, paid traffic, copywriting, design, reporting, and everything in between. 
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously—gets things done, meets deadlines and keeps promises.
  • A willingness to immerse yourself in understanding our audience and ideal client avatars 
  • Experience using Infusionsoft and WordPress is a plus! 
  • Insane attention to detail and an eye for quality 
  • Ability to anticipate the needs of the business and the team
  • Love analytics, numbers and measurement
  • Ability to present ideas and metrics clearly and concisely
  • Extremely flexible when it comes to adapting timelines and sometimes working outside of the regular 9-5
  • Exceptional research skills and overall understanding of SEO and website optimization 
  • High level of maturity (Team AP doesn’t do drama) 
  • Coachable/no ego – happy doing high level projects as well as administrative tasks (there will be a mix of both!)
  • Ability to secure, manage and appropriate resources to get things done
  • Outstanding communication skills / ability to create strong relationships with contractors and team members 
  • Strong ability to solve problems (creative problem solving)
