I once turned into a full-blown revenue-chasing maniac.
It was the time I was chasing my first $250,000 year.
I had just crossed the $200K mark and felt like I was inches away from proving my business was the real deal. š¤¦š»āāļø
That number, $250K, wasnāt just a goal, it was an obsession.
I thought about it in the shower, on walks with Hobie, even while standing in the Trader Joeās checkout line.
It lived rent-free in my brain, and I was determined to grab it no matter what.
By the time October rolled around, I wasnāt quite there yet.
And instead of calmly sticking to the plan, I went into scramble mode. šŖļø
I asked myself, What quick promo could I throw together? Could I tack on another offer? Maybe run a random flash sale?
My energy shifted from focused to frantic.
I wasnāt thinking about the long game. I was only thinking about how I could squeeze every last dollar out of the year so I could hit that magic number.
Did I make some extra money? Sure. But I dragged myself into January exhausted and unprepared.
I hadnāt asked the big questions:
šWhat worked this year? What flopped?
šWhich offers drove the most revenue?
šWhat offers slowed down the business?
šWhere was I buried in admin work?
šWhat needed pruning so I could actually breathe?
Hereās what I wish I had known back thenā¦
Q4 is not just about finishing strong. It is also about setting the stage for the year ahead.
For sure, spend a little time tweaking your Q4 goals so you can position yourself for your year-end wins as much as possible.
Just do not camp out there at the expense of the new year.
It is a dance, and you have to be mindful of it. š
Now, when October hits, I treat Q4 like a runway.
I debrief the year, get honest about what actually moved the needle, and use that clarity to plan for what is next.
So if you are staring down Q4 right now and feeling the urge to hustle harder, take a breath.
That short-term win might feel good in the moment, but clarity, confidence, and optimized offers in January?
That is the kind of win that sets you up for your million.

Things Hobieās Tired of Hearing Me Rant About⦠Wellness Edition š¤£
Last week I told you how Iāve been driving Hobie a little nuts with my new obsessions⦠step counts, macros, food prep, and basically every detail of my new health-and-lifting journey.
What can I say⦠the only way I know how to do something well is to go all in. Whether thatās good or bad, itās just how Iām wired, and honestly, itās served me well.
Here are three things that are working for me right now:
- Peloton + Laptop Tray = Genius. I bought a special tray for my Peloton so I can hop on for 15ā20 minutes, answer emails, or even take quick calls while racking up steps. Ten thousand a day suddenly feels doable. šš»āāļø
- Same Meals, Less Stress. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are basically on repeat five days a week. It makes meal prep brainless and keeps me from negotiating with myself about what to eat. MyFitnessPal does the rest. š„
- Workout Appointments With Myself. Every Sunday morning I map out my four workouts for the week. Theyāre non-negotiable and always in the morning, because if I āplanā to work out at 4 pm⦠letās just say it wonāt happen. šļøāāļø
None of this is fancy or earth-shattering, but itās keeping me consistent, and you and I both know that consistency is where the magic happens. Hope this sparks a little inspiration.
Nice chat! Letās do it again next week.
Until then, be intentional about Q4, try my new AI prompt to reframe your revenue goals, and since I shared my new obsession with you, hit reply and share your recent obsession with me!
