I was never Tony Robbins’ favorite… here’s why 🤦🏻‍♀️

September 9, 2025

Confession: I was not Tony Robbins’ favorite employee.

He didn’t dislike me. But let’s just say… I was “tolerated.”

I had a flashback about this today when I was working on my teaching strategy for my upcoming bootcamp Course Confident.

Any time Tony shared a new idea, my brain went straight to how.

I started asking about the steps… phases… frameworks… roadmaps.

I’m a girl who likes a plan…for everything. (You too?!)

While he was still painting the big vision, I was already building the Ikea instruction manual in my head. 🤓

Now, if you’re a visionary (like he is, and like I am now), you know how annoying that can be.

Proof of Tony tolerating me. I wasn’t lying! 🤣

But in his defense, nothing kills a creative flow faster than someone jumping in with, “Okay, but how would we actually do that?” 🤦🏻‍♀️

However… that very thing that made me tolerable at best in my mid-20s has turned out to be my superpower.

Because today, as a teacher and mentor, I know exactly how to take a big, overwhelming idea (like “launch” a digital course) and break it down into bite-sized, doable steps that actually get you results.

So the trait that once made Tony Robbins frustrated is the same trait that’s helped thousands of my students cross finish lines they never thought they’d reach.

Who’s winning now?!

So let me turn this back to you: what are you labeling as a weakness in your business… that’s actually your edge?

Because chances are, the thing you’re beating yourself up over might be the exact thing that sets you apart.

My Favorite YouTube Shorts of The Week 📺

Okay, confession: I almost never talk about something I haven’t fully mastered. But here I am… going rogue.

Blame my CMO. (Yes, the one who wears jeans 👖while working from home. Psychopath behavior.)

She’s pushing us toward YouTube in 2026 and, in a moment of weakness, I said yes. Who even am I?

So lately I’ve been “studying” YouTube. Translation: I’m low-key addicted to Shorts. Here are a few of my weekly favs…

This short video with Emma Grede is a great reminder of a skill most people do not possess, but it’s a true superpower. Click to watch.

On the flip side of Emma’s video, here’s a great lesson from my friend, Mel Robbins, to stay in your power and make sure you are heard. Click to watch.

The Launch Diaries Highlights 🚀

“If you were starting from scratch in 2025, how would you create and launch your first course?”

That’s the exact question I posed to some of the smartest entrepreneurs I know during a private event called Launch Diaries.

It was a no-replay, you-had-to-be-there experience, but I couldn’t keep all the gold to myself. So, I’m sharing ✨just the highlights✨ on the podcast.

Here’s a taste:

  • Start smaller than you think. Forget 50-module mega courses. Jenna Kutcher says today’s audience craves simple, clean offers that deliver quick wins fast. When people get results quickly, they keep saying yes to what’s next.
  • Lead with connection. Cathy Heller reminded us that people don’t just want information anymore. They want to feel someone is walking beside them. (Something AI can never replace.) Transformation beats information every time.
  • Simplify for success. Stu McLaren shared how he cut courses from 12 lessons to just 4 → and saw completion rates skyrocket. Less content, more results.

And that’s just the beginning.

The Netflix Reviews No One Asked For 👩🏻‍💻

Listen, I’m out here doing my civic duty, reviewing the latest Netflix shows so you don’t have to. Here are my current favs.

#1: Unknown Number: The High School Catfish 🤯
Oh. My. Gosh. This one had me yelling at my TV like it could hear me. The plot twist? I had to pause, walk around the house, and come back to debrief with Hobie. If you’ve seen it, tell me how long it took you to pick your jaw up off the floor.

#2: The Thursday Murder Club 🕵🏻‍♀️
You know I can’t resist a good whodunit. This one kept me guessing the whole way through. Even Hobie was hooked, and usually he’s not impressed with my recs!

And listen, I was going to give you a #3, but here’s the truth: the rest of my list is… dark. Like “do I need a therapist or just a night light?” dark.

If you’ve asked yourself the same question, let me know and I’ll send you my third recommendation. But be warned! 😜 Great chat. Let’s do it again next week!

Until then, turn your “weakness” into your superpower, check out the Launch Diaries highlights, and go watch one of my Netflix recs (you can thank me later!).
