I thought I’d outgrown this reflex.
Turns out, I hadn’t.
About six months ago, I saw Meghan Markle announce her new podcast: Confessions of a Female Founder.
And instantly, I felt it. Jealousy. A hot wave of it. 😬
The title was so good. So clear. So right.
And my first thought? Why didn’t I come up with that?
Within seconds, I was spiraling. I’m not creative enough. My ideas aren’t original. I always fall short.
Which, let’s be honest, is ridiculous.
I’ve built an incredible business. I’ve helped thousands of people. I’m proud of the work I do.
But I’m also human. And envy still shows up.
Here’s how I respond now. Not perfectly, but in a way that helps.
First, I interrupt the spiral by cheering her on.
If I know her, I send a message. If I don’t, I leave a comment.
It’s not performative. It’s a pattern breaker. It keeps me from turning inward and staying stuck.
Second, and this part really matters, I ask myself: “What does she have that I want?”
*Jealousy is often just desire in disguise.*
It’s your gut whispering that something is calling to you.
In Meghan’s case, it wasn’t just the title. It was what the title represented.
I realized I’ve had a quiet desire to support female founders in a bigger way.
The women who are getting started. The ones chasing their first million. The ones scaling well beyond it.
I haven’t talked about that a lot publicly because what I’ve already created works.
It’s solid. It’s successful. And, truthfully, I was afraid to want more.
But I’ve earned this evolution.
I’ve stayed consistent. I’ve built something meaningful.
Now, I’m ready to expand. Not replace. Expand.
That moment of clarity came from a flicker of envy.
So if you’ve ever felt that, you’re not alone.
But instead of pushing it down, try this.
Cheer her on. Then ask yourself, What does she have that I want?
And once you know? Don’t tear it all down. Don’t make a rushed move.
Ask yourself, “Can I build this into what I’m already doing?”
Or do I save it for later and stay focused on the work in front of me?”
That is how you honor your ambition. That is how you grow with clarity.
And most importantly? That’s how you stop letting envy steal your joy and start letting it show you what’s next.
In Case You Missed It This Week 🔥
Here’s what’s worth your brain space this week.
#1: Should You Do The Hard Part First?
This short video has such a great message, but I had all my money on the other guy. You might be surprised by how it ends! Watch here.
#2: Who Got Snubbed on the TIME 100 Digital Voices List?
I love a good list, but some of these picks had me side-eyeing my phone. Others? Total wins. Who do you think got left off? Tell me yours, and I’ll spill mine too. (Hint: I think they missed out on 3 people who should be on the list!)
A Shift I’m Loving on Social 👩🏻💻
I have a love-hate relationship with social media. Always have.
But lately, I’ve started to embrace it again. Not because I suddenly love posting (don’t be cray), but because something is shifting. And I like the shift.
It’s less rehearsed, more in the moment.
Less “here’s exactly how to do it,” and more “here’s what happened when I tried it.”
And that feels so much more real to me.
Here’s what we’re starting to play with:
♦️ From teacher to mentor who feels like a friend: Instead of saying “Do this, this way,” I’m saying “Here’s how it looked when I did it and here’s how it turned out.”
♦️ From pushing to modeling: Less “Click now to learn how to X.” More “Click to see how I figured this out.”
♦️ From curated to candid: Real-life b-roll, not the staged stuff. The goal is to turn the camera on and let life roll. (I like this one, I just need to get more comfortable with letting the camera just roll!)
Even hooks are shifting. Instead of “Read this if …” try “This might sound unhinged, but…” Feels like you’re mid-conversation. Way more inviting.
If you’re feeling stuck or uninspired on social, try one or two of these tweaks.
See how it feels. See how your audience responds.
And if you’ve ever felt weird filming yourself just living life… same.
But here’s the thing: capturing real moments feels a whole lot better than fake typing on your laptop. Believe me, I’ve done it all. 🤦🏻♀️
Let me know what you try. I’m in this experiment with you.
My TV Picks (Hobie Hates #3) 📺
Even though you never asked, here’s my take on what’s good.
#1: The Bear – I’ve watched every single episode of all three seasons. Obsessed is an understatement. The acting? Unreal. The tension? Delicious. Now I call everyone ‘Chef!’ and I don’t even cook.
#2: The Better Sister – This girl loves a thriller, and this one brought the heat. Total “whodunnit” energy. I was suspicious of everyone. Wild ride, worth it.
#3: Secret Lives of Mormon Wives – Am I proud of this one? No. But did I binge it in secret like it was contraband? Absolutely. 🙋🏻♀️ Hobie makes me turn it off every time he walks in. The drama is off the charts, and I am clearly invested.
Your turn. Whatcha watching? You know I love your recs.
Good chat! Let’s do it again next week.
In the meantime, turn that jealousy into action, change up your social media vibes, and secretly watch a little trash TV. It’s good for the soul.

P.S. This week on the pod, my guest hit me with a question that seriously threw me. I’m still not sure I nailed the answer! But the convo? One of my favorites. Click to hear if I nailed it. 🎧
P.P.S. One way I’m using AI strategically in my business is by running my copy through it, like a sales advisor. Here are the prompts I’m using to maximize sales without having to do whole rewrites! 👏
