As I was getting ready to launch my course, my mom was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. I dropped everything to fly home and stay with her for 5 weeks.
While up here, I had an uncle pass away and another uncle diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It’s been a rough time to say the least.
But through all this, I decided not to give up on my goals of adding course income to my business. Afterall, the whole reason I wanted to launch courses in the first place was so that I could keep income coming in whether I was in front of a client or not – whether I was at my office, or traveling to see family.
I pushed the date back a month, but then I followed through with my launch (imperfectly…very, imperfectly). My mom doesn’t have the internet so I have to drive to my grandma’s house every time I have an hour or two free to get some work done.
I also have a pretty small email list so I wasn’t sure what to expect in terms of webinar attendees.
(Before I found Amy, I had 50 people on my list. After listening to her podcast, it grew to 250. Then with Digital Course Academy®️, I had 470 before I launched. Now, my list is almost double that at 850 active subscribers!)
So, I launched my course, “Legally Launched”, which is a step-by-step guide for creatives to legally form their businesses – even though I did NOT feel ready to put it out there.
My goal was to generate $4,500. I ended up making $8,000!
It seems strange to celebrate with everything going on in my life right now, but I am because I’m excited about what this means for my family.
When my mom gets better, I have a job waiting for her as my VA/community manager which will be great for both of us as I grow my business.
This will allow her to focus on her health without worrying about pleasing an overly demanding boss or having no income at all.
On top of that, I have big plans for my business, starting with two more courses that I know my clients will love. One of them, I’ve already pre-sold to 5 people for $1,000 each!
I know that with Amy’s help, I can grow my business to multiple 6-figures without working more than 5 hours a day. That way, I can spend the rest of my time on the things, and with the people that matter most. [INSERT HEART EMOJI]
UPDATE: My latest launch in April 2020 during COVID-19 just made $37,000! I'm really happy with the consistent growth with each of my launches.
