I had a brick-and-mortar needlework store for 14 ½ years. Then, in January of 2017, my husband suffered a stroke. After a couple of months of him not being 100% himself, I decided life was too short to keep running the store.
I was there six days a week. Retail is very demanding. And I needed to close the doors to be more available for my husband.
I wasn’t ready to retire completely, though, so I started to wonder if I could use my background in education (I have a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Early Childhood Education) to teach everything I had learned during 25+ years in the needlework industry online.
Since then, I’ve learned a lot from Amy. With her trainings, I built an email list, launched my course, Need Point Made Easy, and started a membership site too!
Recently, I decided I needed to launch a workshop as well so that my subscribers, mostly females who enjoy needlework as a hobby, who weren’t ready to invest in my other programs had an intro-level place to start learning from me.
Well, I followed exactly what Amy taught in her Workshop Course, and FOUR days later, over Thanksgiving weekend, I enrolled 130 new students in my workshop before I even created it!!
Since it was the holiday season, I decided to “theme” my marketing around Winter Wonderland. Now I can use that workshop again and again. And I plan to launch new workshops each season, too!
This will serve as the entry point to the rest of my business. Meaning, by launching & recording this workshop, I gave my subscribers a low-cost opportunity to start learning from me. After they take the workshop, I can introduce them to my membership program (The Stitcher’s Club) and another course I’m launching in 2020!
This one little workshop just might have a HUGE impact on the amount of revenue I’m able to generate for my entire business because it will help sell everything else!
I honestly can’t imagine what my life would look like if I hadn’t found Amy. I know for sure that I wouldn’t be nearly as far in my journey as an online entrepreneur.
