Even though Alissa and I were realtors at different offices, we were becoming fast friends. Discussions about the market always turned to deeper conversations on ALL things real estate – conversations we thought would be GREAT for a podcast!

So we went for it! And that’s how Hustle Humbly was born.

We quickly built up a following, and listeners began emailing us asking where they could buy our email templates for real estate agents we talked about on the show.

BUY?!

The wheels in my head immediately started turning with all sorts of ideas about how we could generate revenue from this. And that’s when I stumbled upon the idea to create a digital course.

I signed up for Digital Course Academy in September 2019, not really knowing what our course would be about… but I just wanted to understand how this whole thing worked.

We knew that we needed to start collecting email addresses, so we put out our first freebie downloadable Excel template and everyone wanted it! (This was exciting!)

Then it was time to create our course, and we recalled the email template idea we had when we first started our course creation journey. Alissa said, “Do you think we can sell them for $10 apiece?”

That makes me crack a smile now just thinking about it… because we did end up packaging our templates with a small digital course and launched it evergreen courses style in March 2020 via email, social media, and our podcast.

And no it wasn’t $10. It was $197 :)

Right away we had 59 purchases! AND this course consistently sells over 700 copies per year!

The most valuable lesson learned from DCA was how to speak to your ideal client and find out what they want, so you know what to create your course about. Amy explains everything – what questions you should be asking, and how many people to ask…

And you sometimes learn that the answers you receive are not always what you assumed they would be! But this research helped us to not only create our first course, but several more after that.

We’ve now created another evergreen course together – our signature course – that teaches how to get clients and grow your database. I also created my own course teaching how I run my real estate business that has specific launch dates since I offer live coaching as part of the package. And now Alissa is working on her own course!

Because of the freebie idea from Amy that we started way back in the beginning days of the podcast, we now have over 6,000 people on our email list – and still have NEVER paid for advertising!

Alissa and I are both moms, we have our real estate careers, and once a week we host our podcast. Course creation fits into our life so well because we are able to put in as much or as little time that we have.

In just over 2 years, our evergreen courses have brought in over 1 million dollars in sales – just doing this part-time!

Because of this extra income, I don’t have to work nights and weekends showing houses anymore if I don’t want to, and I can pick and choose my clients. Alissa is starting to see the vision of what this can do for our lives and family. We have even been able to hire an assistant to do all the things we just don’t have the time to do.

What we have learned from Amy has changed our lives and our businesses! And this is only the beginning! This is a world we never knew existed, and we are excited to see what is next!
