So I moved to Thailand and started a blog!
This was in 2015…
I was teaching English abroad and chronicling my adventures. The only problem was: not many people were reading it…
A few years later I discovered SEO, taught myself the ropes, and suddenly my blog took off! Finally, I was now actually earning a living from my travel blog!
As my blog continued to grow, I discovered Amy’s podcast. When I heard all the inspiring stories, I realized that I also wanted to create a course to teach people what I had learned.
DCA was going to be the biggest investment I had made in my business yet. And to be honest, I was a bit scared to spend that kind of money on a course…
But my adoring husband is actually the one who believed in me and encouraged me!
So at the end of 2020 I signed up for Digital Course Academy, and “Scale Your Travel Blog” was born!
I chose to package up my course as part of my entire program that also includes coaching support and done-for-you services.
During the first year of launches in 2021, I made $100K. During the second year, $350K. And right now in 2023, we are on track to reach $1 MILLION in sales!
All WITHOUT any paid ads!
I feel one of the reasons we’ve been able to be so successful, so quick, is that I took Amy’s advice, surveyed my ideal clients, and created the course that they would want to buy.
I also followed her brilliant webinar framework, which is how I now sell my program. (It’s so funny to think about it now, but I was so terrified to host my first webinar that I was drenched with sweat by the time it was finished. Now webinars are second nature and a whole lot of fun!)
In fact, EVERYTHING I learned about course creation (and how to operate and grow a successful course business) has been from Amy.
I have now trained over 600 students, and the part I love most: seeing how successful they’ve also become.
The wonderful messages I receive from my students bring tears to my eyes. It touches my heart to see the impact I have made in their lives.
