I’ve always had a passion for teaching and doing the important work of shaping our future generations. The 15 years I spent as an elementary teacher were some of the BEST years of my career.

But when my family moved, I decided to leave my teaching job and be a stay-at-home mom. That was my life for about a year until one day, the unthinkable happened…

My husband lost his job.

Twenty-three years with the same company, and corporate just decided to cut him loose. Benefits, salary, vacation… EVERYTHING down the drain.

That was a very difficult day for my family, and I knew right away that I had to step up and help support the ones I loved most.
Thank goodness I still had my teaching degree because I immediately went online and applied to be an online teacher. I got hired for the gig and quickly started helping Chinese students learn English.

Now as a teacher I’ve always been a crafter, a creator, and a maker.

Creating things for my classroom was second nature to me, and I wanted to use my talent to make some much-needed extra money for my family.

So I started my very own Etsy shop to sell my crafts and creations to other teachers.

I decided to take an Etsy marketing course from DCA alumnus Alissa Rose. Her course gave me the marketing knowledge I needed to build my Etsy shop… but surprisingly, it also helped me discover a whole NEW dream of developing my own course.

I realized that I could help other teachers who were struggling with a webcam software called ManyCam. ManyCam is a video streaming tool that many teachers are now using in the ever-changing world of COVID-19.

With so many classrooms shifting to online, I knew it was crucial to give these teachers the ManyCam knowledge they needed to keep their online classrooms running smoothly.

Developing this course was the PERFECT way to combine my love for teaching with my desire to create a more stable future for my family.

The problem was that money was tight and I couldn’t afford to buy DCA yet. In an act of pure selflessness, my husband offered to sell his beloved drone so I could buy Amy’s course.

I couldn’t allow my sweet, sweet husband to do that. But his grand gesture and belief in me confirmed I had to go after my dream.

It didn’t matter that we didn’t have $2,000 in the bank. We had to figure out a way to find the money…and we did. And now with the help of DCA, I am getting ready to launch my digital course in January 2021!

When I first started DCA, I had 230 people on my list. Now that I’m almost finished with it, I have well over 1,000!
And once I finish Amy’s incredible course, I know I can take my business even further.

I’ve got the tools… I see the path… I know where I’m going.

The BEST part is knowing that my family is going to be taken care of and that we have the extra income and protection we need during the uncertain times of COVID-19. Thank you, Amy!

Update- Amanda launched her course the first time in January 2021 and had a $4K launch. What a great start!
