It was the shock of a lifetime.

When at 55 years old, after a long career in retail with huge companies like The Gap, Old Navy, and Esprit…

I got called into my boss’s office and was laid off — just like that.

I thought I was going to retire there!

Immediately, I felt completely disempowered. It was like I had no control over my own life, and I didn’t know where to turn next.

Which was made worse when I spent the next THREE YEARS looking for another job.

Finally, my husband turned to me and said, “You know, sweetie. You were meant for something better than this.”

(It chokes me up just thinking back to that moment now.)

He suggested that I take an online art class. Which introduced me to online courses. Which, naturally, led me to Amy Porterfield.

Now I don’t even want to imagine what my life would be like if I hadn’t met Amy!

You see, I started with just 25 people on my email list — 15 of which were family members. (Ha!) But just a year and a half after joining DCA, my list has grown to 22,000 people!

My course, The Pattern Design Academy®, is for people like me who want to explore the online art field, who have gone through a big transition, and are trying to figure out what’s next in this stage.

My very first launch generated $12,589. (Which paid for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Paris with my husband.) And by the end of 2019, I had generated six figures in my business!

My most recent launch, in May of 2020, during COVID and at 62 years old…

Generated $113,446 in a matter of weeks!! WOOOOOOT!

And no, I don’t teach people how to make money. I teach them how to make pattern designs. Something I LOVE!

These days, I feel large and in charge. I cannot WAIT to jump up out of bed in the morning and get to work in my business.
