How AI will actually impact your small business (from the perspective of a small business owner)

Does the idea of incorporating AI and tools like ChatGPT into your marketing plan totally overwhelm you? 

If so, you’re not alone, sweet friend. Technology is changing in big, big ways — and not only is it hard to keep up, but it’s not 100% clear the exact impact that it will have on your online business, especially when it comes to marketing.

I’ve been playing around with AI in my business, and testing it out on things like podcast scripts, ad copy, and even show notes copy. And even though I’m learning so much about AI as I continue to immerse myself in it, I still have so many unanswered questions. 

That’s why I invited marketing expert Emily Hirsh to the show. Emily is the CEO of Hirsh Marketing, and she’s been testing out AI in her marketing agency since it became readily available to the public in 2022.

I am so excited for Emily to share what she’s found in her months of testing, and the impact that it’s made on her business, both good and bad.

  • [20:25] The value of non-AI generated content should go up. AI will most likely devalue everything that's produced by AI.
  • [23:24] AI is only as strong as what it's fed. The biggest impact AI is having is on creatives like copywriters and designers. 
  • [27:03] According to Bill Gates, AI is as big of a technological advance as the internet, and it is moving at a very rapid pace.
  • [28:01] AI should be an opportunity in the next two years as it increases efficiency. If you don't lean in now, you'll be behind.
