In only a few months I went from being a full-time teacher, with a part-time side hustle – to a full-time entrepreneur living my dream life!
My co-founder and I were middle school teachers working across the hall from each other. Together we founded an academic summer camp company, held at our school, for teachers to learn new reading and writing teaching techniques. It was super successful – a win for our students, a win for the parents, AND a win for us as teachers to supplement our income!
We wanted to replicate this model to other teachers across the country, but quickly found there was too much red tape and abandoned the idea.
One day in the car I caught an episode of Amy’s podcast, and that’s when I realized we could turn our teachings into a digital course!
(Then I immediately purchased all of Amy’s online courses that were available at the time.)
We launched our first program in the winter of 2018. As a newbie, I was shocked when we brought in $22,000!
It was so exciting to see how much additional revenue I could generate for my family and I was hooked! So the next time Digital Course Academy opened for enrollment – I signed up!
Amy is just such an amazing teacher – clear, structured, and has a type-A personality, just like me! Everything in her course is laid out from A to Z with no gray areas.
During the pandemic, we completely redid our course, incorporating everything we learned from DCA.
The result: That summer launch, we brought in $600,000!
It was absolutely remarkable! Especially when you think of it like this:

Our first launch impacted AT LEAST 81,000 students! (It’s insane, in the best way!)
We’ve now had almost 6,000 teachers go through our writing program over the years and have almost 4,000 teachers in our membership.
To date, our launches and memberships have brought in over $1,399,000!
And because our email list is 65,000 strong and growing, we anticipate so much more growth in the years to come!
More than that, though, becoming a course creator has allowed me to realize my potential as a person. I had always wanted to be a leader in some capacity, and now I get to be the CEO of a 15-person team AND be a leader of our teachers.
Being able to take what I’ve learned and help other people has been one of the greatest joys that I’ve experienced as a result of becoming a course creator. This program has changed my life and changed who I am fundamentally, and it’s all thanks to DCA!
