For 16 years I worked in corporate marketing. I was a corporate person. My dad was a corporate person. It was really the only path I knew! But throughout the years, people would ask me, “Will you train me on digital marketing?”

So in 2017 I took a leap of faith, left my job, and started doing in-person corporate trainings. I was hired by American Airlines, the NBA, the New York Times, and eventually even the US Navy! For over 2 years I grew and grew the business. Then March 2020 happened…

And like so many others, my business was severely impacted by the COVID lockdown.

I couldn’t believe that I had finally reached a place where all my hard work paid off. I was comfortable in my business… I had great clients…And then all of a sudden, EVERY SINGLE ONE of my events was getting canceled – literally overnight!

I knew I had to do something to continue working and making money. (After all, my business is my livelihood!) That’s when I had the idea to finally create an online course.

The truth is that as a longtime follower of Amy’s I was always interested in creating online courses, yet I couldn’t ignore the feeling that it would be too much for me to take on with my workload. But all of a sudden I found myself with plenty of time!

I was now ready to go all in… however, there was just one problem: the next Digital Course Academy didn’t open until September…

I couldn’t wait until September! I needed to start learning now! So I enrolled in 2 other online courses that looked similar to DCA, thinking: “These programs are all the same, right?”

At the end of 2020, I used what I learned in these other programs to launch my first course… TOTAL DISASTER! I cried for three days. I thought, “Well, this just isn’t for me! I’m just not good at this!”

But then 2021 comes around… Amy opens the doors again for DCA…
and with my dad’s loving encouragement I decided that just maybe I would give this one last shot with Amy’s help.

As soon as I started DCA, I said, “Ah, okay, so THIS is how you do online courses!” I quickly saw all the missing parts. The other programs I did taught me how to record a course… but now I am learning how to make my course a BUSINESS. There is a formula that works; I just didn’t know it!

I was genuinely surprised at how generous Amy is in her teachings. She shares ALL the little details! Being that my background is in marketing, I tested all the digital marketing channels. Google ads, Facebook ads… And the live webinar was the one that converted the most people!

Looking back at when I started my business in 2017, it felt so great to work for myself, but it was very time-consuming. I had found myself each day exhausted once again.

Because of the success of my online courses, I don’t have to go back to corporate training or consulting! My husband is now happy that I am home more, and I have a secure, scalable business that I can grow on my own terms!

Update: Last October, I wrapped up the launch of my course, and we enrolled 481 students for a total of $464k!
