For years I owned a top Denver dog-walking and pet-sitting company.
As can be expected, my busiest days were weekends and holidays. That’s when people are typically out of town and need my services.
But because of my work schedule, I was never able to take a family vacation with my kids and I missed every holiday. That was my sad reality, and I hated that.
So while on the one hand, I wanted to scale my business, I was also maxed out!
Sure, I had great employees! But I still always needed to be physically present. And there are only so many hours in the day that I could possibly work and stay sane.
Meanwhile, I was starting to earn a reputation for being the doodle expert. And that’s how I got to thinking that somehow my expertise could be leveraged to solve my scalability issue.
And that’s how I got into the world of Amy Porterfield.
First I signed up for List Builders Society to learn how to grow my email list. That’s when Amy suggested starting a podcast, “The Doodle Pro Podcast”… and that changed the whole game.
The success was exciting, and I decided to sell my dog-walking company and just go all in on doodles.
That’s when I enrolled in Digital Course Academy to launch my doodle-specific course – “Zoomies to Zen.”
In DCA you are taught to have ICA calls, to learn about your clients and what they would want to purchase. I took the coaching and ran with it!
These were game changers that helped me drill down on my customers’ biggest pain points to select the topics my course needed to address.
I then used my new intel and the road map for how to build the course modules and got to work creating my course, often leaning on Amy’s live Q&A calls and the community in the Facebook group to have my ideas validated and to receive feedback from other peers.
It is because I followed the steps Amy lays out in DCA that my first launch brought in over $23,000! (That also includes sales from offering a membership option to everyone that purchased the course!)
I am already working on my next 2 evergreen courses and can’t wait to continue to build my Doodle Pro brand!
