I actually got funding for my research that turned into creating my first course. It’s a fantastic program called Dogs Help Kids Read and Succeed, which is partially in schools and partially online.

When it was time for a revamp, I joined DCA (and didn’t end up revamping it at all!).

You see, when I got back to Canada after teaching in Japan, Hong Kong, and a few other countries, I started to notice that teachers struggled with teaching literacy because they didn’t know the basics of running a classroom. And this was a problem that I needed to fix!

That’s when I started a podcast and began to build my list, with Amy’s help, of course. I followed her advice and created my lead magnets. I started with 35 to 40 subscribers, and now I have over 3,000!

Then I got to work on my new course, The Ready For School Academy.

It helps new teachers lay the foundation for an organized, fun, and well-managed classroom throughout the year, even if they need to transition to teaching online.

The first time I launched, 25 amazing teachers signed up!

Then I launched again… The result: 150 new purchases and $14,938 in revenue!

I learned everything about selling an online course from Amy. Honestly, I wouldn’t have a clue without her.
My course now allows me to have a global reach and make such a bigger impact on teachers and kids than I ever knew I could. I cry when I read the testimonials because I just think, “Okay, that’s one more teacher I’ve saved!”

PLUS, now I have the flexibility to travel. I love the idea of living wherever I want, whenever I want, while doing incredibly meaningful work and serving people I think are awesome. And now I can do that if I want!

Update: I wrapped up my 3rd launch last May and had $41,806 in revenue, and am gearing up for my 4th in July (which will mark 2 years in business).
