I’ve always had a Nike approach to life: “Just do it.”

This is because when I was a teenager I experienced a horrific, life-threatening situation that gave me perspective on how fragile life is. I knew I wanted to make sure I did something that gave my life meaning. Life is too short to not be living in a way that “sparks joy,” as Marie Kondo says.

The thing is, I still ended up in cubicle life. I would sit in my cubicle with my headphones on listening to Amy’s podcast and looking at a schedule full of meetings I didn’t care about and a stack of paperwork I needed to do and think, “Yo, this can’t be life.”

I wanted to start my own business and in 2015 I wrote a book that kicked off the journey. I learned how to 3x my 9-5 income and I eventually I began helping other women like me start their side hustles.

I have to say that program was so helpful for me. It gave me the tools that I needed to run a successful webinar to launch my signature program, Cubicle Ditch Academy.

I only did one webinar. That’s it. I wanted a chill launch. No challenges. No lives. No stress. Just one webinar, and it worked! Whew did it work!

I launched a second time in the middle of the pandemic with all of the protests going on and still made another $65,745. My second cohort of students are only a month into the course, and they’re already crushing it.

Getting to read their success stories and seeing their businesses grow during the pandemic is the best. It’s such an amazing feeling.
