I’ve always been interested in health, fitness, and wellness, though out of school I found myself working as a corporate recruiter. Truth be told, it was burning me out fast! So I decided I needed to find a career I was more interested in, which is how I ended up with a coaching certification through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

Once I graduated, I got a job working at Lifetime Fitness as the head of endurance coaching. It finally felt like I was tapping into the work that I was really interested in, helping people with their health and improving the quality of their lives.

But it was still really busy — I was working crazy hours. I’d meet with clients early in the morning and late at night. The schedule was all over the place. It just wasn’t ideal, so again I started to think about what could be next.

The idea of creating my own business where I could do things my own way was very attractive to me. I’ve always had a bit of a rebellious streak, and I like to create my own rules… but I wasn’t sure exactly how to make this business thing happen.

That’s when I decided to enroll in Marie Forleo’s B-School and launch my own health coaching business…. AND that’s how I first came into contact with Amy.

I immediately loved Amy’s style. There is something about the way she can take things that seem very complex and systematize them in a way that’s easy to understand.

By learning from Amy, my one-on-one health coaching business took off. As exciting as it was, by 2015 I was certain I needed to change my business model to have more time freedom. (I was now married with two kids at that point, and we were working all kinds of crazy hours.)

That’s when my husband suggested I turn my work with one-on-one clients into a course. I immediately thought about Amy and Digital Course Academy®️.

I signed up and was so excited. I even printed out the schedule and everything :)

With Amy’s guidance I got it done! I created a course that is not just about nutrition, but also about shifting your lifestyle so you create overall wellness in your life.

My launch was very nontraditional because I didn’t do Facebook ads or a webinar. I wanted to use my first one as a test to see how good my reach was from organic Facebook posts and videos.

I started doing weekly Facebook Lives and focused on engaging with my audience and providing them with great content instead of just selling all the time. I think that really connected with people so they were ready to register when the shopping cart link became live.

In my first launch, I had 101 people sign up and made $20,000!! It felt really good! It was so validating to know that what I was offering resonated with people and solved their problems.

I also feel like I’m finally having the impact I want to have, in the way that works for me and my family.

I had the knowledge, and I knew I was a great coach. But I didn’t have the systems in place to reach more people. That’s the bridge that Amy and Digital Course Academy®️ has created for me.

Now I’m super optimistic for the future. Bring it on!
