I’m a pediatrician in private practice. For quite some time I’ve had a thriving in-person community, but never did I ever have any kind of online entrepreneurial aspirations.

At least not until some friends introduced me to this whole world of online marketing and course creation. After that, my desire to learn how to run an online business snowballed from there.

I discovered Amy by searching for podcasts to listen to. That’s what got me swept up in this world, in the best way! I made the decision to step forward as an expert, by creating a podcast and a course… which is when I signed up for DCA.

In order to figure out my course topic, I started thinking about the number-one thing my patients ask for. By far the answer was “sleep training.” But, the problem was that there’s usually not enough time during my in-person appointments to explain to parents how to sleep train the little ones I see.

The solution: to create a thorough resource that families could review on their own time to get the step-by-step details they would need.

I launched my online course in October 2018, which didn’t sell as well as I hoped it would. I only had three or four sales. That’s probably because I didn’t follow Amy’s instructions!

After taking some of Amy’s advice post-launch, I realized a whole course was too much information for new parents. They weren’t buying because they already felt overwhelmed… adding taking an entire course to their to-do list seemed impossible. So I went back to the drawing board and revamped everything.

Thanks to the bonus training that came with DCA: “How to Create and Promote a ‘Workshop Course’ in 30 Days or Less,” I decided to do a workshop named Mighty Sleepers instead of a course. I followed Amy’s process to a T (and luckily I even had an opportunity for her to review my slides!).

I relaunched in May 2019 with the new strategy, and it was a completely different experience. I had great signups and people were really engaging and participating in the workshop I had created! I was blown away!

Honestly, that was just the start of everything! I now have over 5,000 people on my email list, and my audience is growing every day.

I’m so grateful that I can have my private practice AND reach more people online. I love being able to share my important parenting strategies with a larger audience and am enjoying the financial security that comes with it!
