I have had a passion for photography ever since I was a little girl. But I never thought during my days on the playground that someday I’d have a photography business.

It all started very organically because I just kept following my interest — I bought a camera… then I took a class… then I started doing photos for my friends… and eventually, after getting let go from my corporate accounting job in 2015, my business was born.

I was now a full-time photographer ready to thrive and take it to the next level!

I started getting more and more clients through word of mouth, and my success snowballed from there. By 2017 it had totally taken off — I was really busy!

And when that happened, I started getting LOTS of people asking me how I built the photography business. I wanted to help, so I started doing one-on-one coaching to teach them the basics. I quickly discovered that this individualized type of coaching was a terrible way to leverage my time.

When I found Amy (through Jenna Kutcher’s podcast), I knew she could show me a better way. So I enrolled in DCA, and I created a course to help hobby photographers take their business pro — just like I did.

I’ve launched my course a couple of times now, and each time I do, I gain more and more confidence.

My last launch opened in June on the Black Lives Matter Blackout Tuesday, and all the conversation online (rightfully) was about that. I was wondering if what was happening in the world would affect my sales. But even with a pretty small list of 700 people I still had ten people enroll and I made $11,000!

I’m so grateful to have this income stream as part of my business.

It gives me peace of mind knowing I don’t have to worry about booking photography projects through 2020 to make a great income (but that I totally can if I want!).

UPDATE: Currently, I am in my 7th year working on my business full time and have launched eight times and generated over $125,000 from my digital course alone!
