While running my optometry business for a few years, I slowly realized it wasn’t what I wanted to do for the rest of my life…
Don’t get me wrong, I loved being my own boss… But I wanted something different. Something that would fill me with joy.
Then I got hit with a pretty major health scare. That’s when I decided that life was just too short to go back to something I didn’t love.
But there was a problem… I didn’t know WHAT I loved.
Life continued on…
I moved to Dubai…
Became a new mom…
And that’s how I began doing a lot of cooking. I was so proud of my creations that I started taking pictures of the food that I would make.
And that’s when it hit me…
The cooking part was okay, but the food photography was AMAZING! It lit me up!!
That’s how I started my food photography business, and I’ve never looked back.
I ran my business for 12 years, and when I wasn’t taking pictures of food, I was teaching workshops about food photography.
But then COVID happened…
With restaurants closed and large gatherings not allowed, I lost a BIG chunk of my work. I knew I needed to shift my business online, but I wasn’t sure how to get started.
That’s when I stumbled across Amy and Digital Course Academy.
It’s how I got the idea to create an online food photography course!
I followed DCA to the T and created my six-week signature course teaching food bloggers how to master food photography so they can take the next big step in upleveling their business.
On my very first launch, I enrolled 31 students in my course and made $14,901!!
I love the way that Amy has structured DCA… she makes learning how to create a digital course sooo easy! Without her, I would have never thought to use a webinar to sell something! Yet I did… and it worked!

There are only so many days in a year that I can schedule photo shoots… but thanks to DCA, I feel like I have access to a lot more possibilities of ways I can make a great income — even when I can’t schedule a shoot.
