My guest on today’s episode was a corporate girl turned overwhelmed entrepreneur turned entrepreneur with a thriving online business, a lucrative digital course, and the time and freedom to prioritize her family and make an impact far beyond what she ever imagined.
Her name is Jamie Trull, her business is called “Balance CFO,” and you may remember her from episode #280 where I taught you how to do a “Course Validation Call” with her as my Ideal Customer Avatar.
When we first met Jamie, she had left her corporate job to become an entrepreneur so she could have the time and flexibility to be with her little ones.
But working one on one with clients only left her feeling overwhelmed, attached to her phone, and frustrated that she didn’t have the time and energy for her family that she had hoped to gain.
After using the practices she learned in Digital Course Academy®️, Jamie launched her 5-week course, Financial Fitness Formula, which helps solopreneurs take control of their business finances, and ended up making five-figures.

- [06:24] After exiting corporate, Jamie found herself overwhelmed, underearning, and still missing time with her family. She was determined to find a way to eliminate her overwhelm and scale her growing business. Enter Digital Course Academy®️!
- [11:12] That’s when the fun started for Jamie! Before DCA, she could only serve 10 clients at a time. Just a few months after joining DCA, she pre-sold her course, followed by a live course launch, and generated $44,000 her first time through.
- [17:54] Jamie shares one of her biggest misconceptions. She believed that she had to have a product before a list — not true! She shares how her free content and list building efforts paid off when she created her digital course.
- [19:10] What does Jamie love most about an online business? She loves the bigger impact she has. Plus, the flexibility it’s offered her has been life-changing.
- [22:38] In light of coronavirus, she has been focusing on serving her community by decoding stimulus bills. This shift resulted in over 6,000 people joining her Facebook group, and her email list growing by 4,000 people. (You read that correctly, friend!)
- [26:00] Jamie dives into the details around how she pre-launched her course and gives exact examples of what worked best.
- [33:49] And while she ended up with a 25% conversion rate from her webinar to digital course (that’s really good!), Jame shares what she plans to do next time to boost webinar registrations.
- [37:39] “If you’re afraid to put yourself out there, just do it anyway. Be there, show up, and start doing,” she says.
