As a grant writer, I look at how I can help people get the funding they need for their nonprofit. (And it’s rewarding work!)

So many people need my support, but they often can’t afford my services. (Usually when starting a nonprofit, the money just isn’t there to spend on a consultant.)

So I started asking myself… How can I help more people with a more affordable option?

The answer: To write a book about how to write grants.

They can’t afford me, but they can afford to buy my book!

So I did!

The process of writing a book exposed me to a whole new world of coaches who were talking about creating online courses. And that’s when I discovered Amy Porterfield and started listening to her podcast.

As soon as I started learning about online courses, I got even more excited!

I could reach even MORE people with this affordable option! (Even living in Guam, where I currently reside.)

So I tried to figure it out on my own. And I made some headway… but I still had missing gaps I needed to fill.

That’s when I signed up for Digital Course Academy. I knew it was time to get serious about course creation and how to optimize what I already had.

Under the guidance of DCA, I redefined my ICA, repurposed the content in my existing course to create more specific niche courses, and started a mentorship program.

I launched 3 courses in October 2021 and made $12,000!

My grant writing master course teaches people how to write grants.

My freelance grant writing master course teaches people how to run a freelance grant writing business.

And my nonprofits strategic planning master course teaches nonprofits how to diversify their funding.

Building my enterprise through course creation allows me the freedom to live abroad, help more nonprofits at price points that make sense, and provide me with free time to pursue other interests.

I have so many plans for what’s next in my business as a course creator, and DCA has provided the framework to make that happen!
