I was an accountant for over ten years. And truth be told, I never really wanted to do what I thought was the cliche “CPA thing” of having my own tax practice… let alone create a course.

But, in 2014 I decided it was at least worth a try to test the waters, and I started doing tax returns on the side. At the same time, I started a personal finance blog, which helped me to start making connections with others in the same space.

What started out as a side hustle turned into more tax clients. My accounting business and online presence started to grow, and I eventually ended up on a new client’s eBay podcast. That eventually led to more exposure in the online reselling space, and I even began selling online myself. I ultimately decided to focus my tax practice within the niche of online selling.

After some time of receiving the same sets of questions over and over from clients and other online sellers, I had the thought to create an eBook. I launched it in January of 2018 to answer these commonly asked questions.

Even though I still had a relatively small audience at the time, I made 100 sales on the first day—over $1,000!

This got me excited… and it wasn’t just about the money (although that part was pretty exciting).

My wife and I had always wanted to live abroad, and when I launched the eBook, we were actually already living in Nicaragua where we had decided to live for a year. Being able to sell my eBook while traveling really opened my eyes to the reality of being able to run the business from anywhere and that this online thing really could work for us.

I wanted to keep going, and I asked in a Facebook group about suggestions for the best course on how to create my own course. And that’s how I found Amy. I invested in one of Amy’s previous programs and with Amy’s help I started creating my course—a course on how to optimize your taxes as an online seller.

I launched it in January 2019, and without doing any webinars, I made $37,000. I left the cart open for the rest of tax season and made another $25,000!

One year later, after going through Digital Course Academy®️ and buttoning up my course and my sales page, I did a ten-day launch and made $108,000!

The success of my course has alleviated the stress of having to rely on one-on-one client interactions to make an income.

It has given us the option to pursue our dream of living a lifestyle where we can travel for extended periods of time and show our kids the world.

And I have Amy and Digital Course Academy®️ to thank for that.
