There’s this recurring thought in the online course world that you can only make money by teaching others how to make money. I used to believe it myself. But now I know how wrong I was.

Since launching my courses, my family sees that I’m more relaxed. I’m not chained to my computer 24/7. I get to enjoy a deep connection with my students. And I know why I was put on this planet. I’m living out my mission every day.

You see, I’m a certified sommelier, and before Amy, I was writing wine reviews for magazines. The problem is that print is dying. And there’s not much money in it anymore. I wrote hundreds, if not THOUSANDS, of reviews for very little pay.

Most people talk about how they hate trading dollars for hours at their job. I was trading dollars for adjectives.

Luckily, I was also listening to Amy’s podcast for general tips on online marketing at this time. Her voice is so soothing! ;-)

The more she talked about online courses, the more I realized that’s exactly what I wanted to do. But I had never seen wine tasting taught online before. It’s a very sensory and physical experience, and therefore ALWAYS done in person.

Amy helped me see that there are actually a lot of benefits to taking a wine course online. You don’t have to worry about driving home after drinking. If you’re a parent, you don’t have to find and pay for a babysitter for the night.

You have access to the information for LIFE, and you get to meet people all over the world instead of just in your local area! Many of my students also live in rural areas where they would have never had access to a sommelier-taught wine class.

That must be why my launches went so much better than I expected!

I started with a beta launch of my first course called Get Wine Smart. I planned on cutting enrollment off at 15 students at $197. I didn’t do a webinar and just sent one email to my list.

Two hours later, 17 people had enrolled before I had recorded ANY of the course!

I then went on to double my price and enrolled another 41 students. Next, I launched a second course and had 61 students pay for my beta access.

I’ve sold over $30,000 so far…And to this day, I have never been asked for a refund.

My fears that people don’t want to pay for a “pleasure” course (that they only want to learn how to make more money) are GONE!

I love that I’m helping people have fun. We all work so much. We deserve to enjoy the pleasurable parts of life too!
