After working in the fashion industry for 20 years, I’ve learned that one size does NOT fit all.
As a technical designer, I’ve spent the majority of my career making clothing patterns and getting clothes to fit all different body types.
But when my husband and I moved to Vancouver Island, I had a hard time finding a job in my field. That’s when I began teaching pattern-making at a local college instead.
The students LOVED it, and that’s when I had my big idea: I could teach my knowledge about fitting and patterns online too!
So, I started by creating digital sewing patterns and took my first attempt at my online business.
But I quickly discovered that building a business on my own was hard. I was doing everything I knew how to do, but I wasn’t making much traction…
Luckily, that’s when I heard about Amy!
She was launching List Builders Lab (now called List Builders Society) at the time, and I was completely drawn to her and the step-by-step format of her course! I jumped in and began building my list and growing my customer base.
The list building went great, but I was still missing something…the selling part!
Thankfully, Amy had a next best step for me: Digital Course Academy!
After joining and going through all of the modules, I created my course called “How to Make Sewing Patterns Fit You.” Similar to Amy’s style, it’s a step-by-step course that teaches at-home sewers how to adjust sewing patterns to fit their unique body shapes.
On my very first launch, I enrolled 298 students in my course and made $74,202 in Canadian dollars!!!
I’ve launched two more times since then and have now made an additional $153,846 CAD!! Holy COW!!
The most valuable part of DCA for me was Amy’s webinar strategy. It made all the difference in how I interacted with my audience and really helped increase their interest in my course!
I also loved learning how to interconnect all of my technology so that everything works together smoothly.
