I am an artist, illustrator, and graphic designer who LOVES teaching others and made a great living at it…

When the economy took a plunge in 2008, I lost many of my graphic design clients, and I knew I needed to make an adjustment to how I made money as a creative.

A home decor company offered me a job as manager, and I loved this job too – but the long commute was killing me.

One benefit to my long commute… was I discovered Amy's “Online Marketing Made Easy“. I listened every single time she had a new podcast to share!

I had no idea at the time that, years later, Amy’s podcast would change my life!

In January 2020, I took a position as an adjunct college professor, and of course, by March, because of COVID, my job became totally online. That is when I realized – “Wait a minute – I am teaching online, just like I have heard Amy talk about for years! Creating an online course wouldn’t actually be that hard!”

So at the very next open enrollment in 2021, I joined Digital Course Academy!

Then I had to figure out what my course was going to be about…

Now, my favorite art application is called Procreate. It lets you draw and paint on your Apple iPad, and I have found it to be a game changer in my life as a creative.

While I was teaching myself how to use it, I realized there was no one online teaching it the way I thought it needed to be taught. And that’s when I decided on the topic of my new online course.

Then I started building my email list…

I didn’t have an email list when I first started DCA, but luckily I LOVED learning about how to grow my list with lead magnets! I went from 0 to 350 subscribers by the time of my first launch, and I still receive 6–12 new sign-ups per day!

As I was starting to create my course, imposter syndrome kicked in. I was worried —what if I wasn’t enough of an expert – would anyone buy my course? But Amy knows how to boost your confidence and help you see that so many others are eager to learn what you know.

DCA taught me so many new things that I never thought I could do: webinars, tech software…

Everything you need to learn is included in the program, and Amy is your cheerleader telling you you can do this! (In fact, she’s become my role model for how I want to teach my students.)

In January 2022, I launched Learn the Art of Procreate at a super low, founding members price. (This first launch was a total test. I hadn’t even recorded all my modules because I wanted to monitor in real-time how my students were doing and use that intel to create the modules that came next.)

I just finished my last semester of in-person teaching, so I can now concentrate more on building my digital course business. And I am very excited as I am looking forward to seeing what my future holds!
